Signs to watch for
- Blood on the brush, floss or in the sink
- Gums that look red, shiny or swollen
- Persistent bad breath or a bad taste
- Gums that have shrunk back, exposing root surfaces
- Teeth that feel loose, or have started to drift apart
Bleeding when you brush is not normal — and it is very treatable.
Gum disease affects around half of UK adults and is the leading cause of tooth loss. Caught early it is reversible. Book a gum health check below.
Send us your details and we'll be in touch — usually within one working day.

Gingivitis is inflammation of the gum only and resolves within weeks of proper cleaning. Periodontitis means the attachment and bone have been damaged — that requires periodontal treatment and lifelong maintenance to keep stable. Only measurement and X-rays can tell the two apart.
Most patients start with a thorough hygiene visit, tailored cleaning instruction and, if smoking, cessation support. We re-measure after 8–12 weeks. If pockets remain deep we move to root surface debridement, and refer to a specialist periodontist for advanced or aggressive disease.
